Mikhail Ivanovich PETRAKOV

Mikhail Ivanovich PETRAKOV was born in 1959.

In 1982 graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

Joined diplomatic service in 1982.

Worked in the Embassy of the USSR in India (1982-1986), the Embassy of the USSR/Russia in Australia (1988-1995) and the Permanent Mission of Russia to the European Communities in Brussels (2001-2006).

Since 2008 – Director of the First Department of the Commonwealth of Independent States of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Holds a diplomatic rank of Minister Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

Speaks English and Hindi.

Married, with two adult daughters.
